Our journey started out small, in the comfort of a cozy bedroom.
With our previous multiple generations having worked with Pashmina in weaving, embroidering, and finishing mainly at the artisan level; we embarked on a journey to revive the authentic Pashmina/Cashmere ethos globally.
With our deep-rooted love and familiarity with authentic pashmina and other Kashmiri crafts, it was disheartening to witness pashmina being used as a catch-all term for subpar products in the market.As consumers, it's important for us to keep ourselves educated on what authentic products from a region are and to support companies that prioritize quality and ethical sourcing.
The use of the terms pashmina/shahtoosh so loosely for acrylic and polywool not only devalues the true beauty and worth of genuine pashmina or pure wool, but it also harms the livelihoods of the artisans who depend on the trade.
